During these unprecedented times, finals week is sure to look different for your student this year. We have been busy adapting our finals support services and events to the new virtual environment. If your student is looking for study tips, ways to stay connected or wants to learn more about what is going on during finals, have them check out our finals website. There are a variety of ways for your student to stay connected to campus from the Center for Student Involvement’s classic program Late Night Breakfast to other programs like Fight Song Fridays.

Campus leadership is working to create an innovative in-person experience this fall, with the health, safety and welfare of our community as guiding principles. The Chancellor shared more about the guiding principles, areas of focus and timeline for Fall 2020 planning. Final preparations are underway for the May 16 celebration of our graduates, honoring their accomplishments, their resilience and the unique character of the Class of 2020. We’re facing the global coronavirus pandemic as a community through our Buffs Together campaign. Join us and consider giving to the Student Emergency Fund to help Buffs in need.

While many of our students have left campus, they can still access Health and Wellness Services from the comforts of home. Here are some of the resources available to your student if they are in need of things like counseling or medical services.

Does your student have questions about their job or internship search? Encourage them to meet with a career development advisor. Career Services is open for virtual visits via Zoom, phone or the LiveChat on their website Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more about virtual appointments and drop-in hours.
 
Activities to do with your family during COVID-19
If you find yourself inside due to COVID-19, think about doing some of these activities with your families: watch a movie series marathon, play a family board game like Monopoly, plan a formal dinner, learn a new language or have an at home ‘Chopped’ competition by making a dish using designated ingredients. The possibilities are endless, so use this time to really connect as a family.
