Welcome to the Boulder Bound Family Newsletter! We are so excited your student is joining us this fall. This biweekly newsletter will keep you updated and informed of resources, campus information and action items your student should be taking to help in the transition to CU Boulder. Each newsletter will also have advice from other Buff families about what they wish they had known in the few months leading up to their student’s first semester.

We hope this helps you feel prepared and supported before your student’s arrival to CU Boulder in August. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us at 303-492-4431 or families@colorado.edu.

Family Online Experience

We invite you to explore our Family Online Experience. The Family Online Experience provides valuable, need-to-know information about your student’s transition to CU Boulder over the summer, including details about enrolling in classes, technology needs, living on and off campus, finances and more.

Your Student's Next Steps

Your student is receiving emails through their CU Boulder email account with instructions on their next steps over the summer, including completing the New Student Online Experience. Please remind them to check their CU Boulder email and complete their Online Experience as soon as possible to stay on track.

Buff Family Advice

“Email is the most important thing your child will have to learn to love. That is the ONLY way your child will communicate with teachers. Their email holds every update, class change, assignment delay, quiz grade, etc. My son did not deal with email in high school or ever in his life. That is the primary way to communicate with professors. Learn to love the email. Oh, and get really tight with your advisor.”
