The CU Book Store is the official bookstore of CU Boulder and is here to support you and your student. Below is some helpful information on textbooks from the CU Book Store.

  1. Place a textbook order online!

Your student can order textbooks now without having registered for courses. It’s fast, easy and convenient! All they need is their IdentiKey to place a pre-order. The CU Book Store can look up what your student will need after they register for classes.

When placing a pre-order, your student can choose between rental, used or new books and can bill them to the tuition and fee bill. Your student will receive an email when their books are ready for pick-up the weekend before classes start.

If you or your student need assistance placing an order, please reach out to the CU Book Store.

  2. Bill Your Textbooks to Your Tuition and Fee Bill

Students may charge their textbooks, course materials, school supplies and technology accessory purchases (up to $1,500 per semester) to their tuition and fee bill. Learn more about how to bill textbooks here.

  3. Rent Textbooks to Save money!

Renting textbooks may be a more cost-efficient option for your student. Students can highlight and make notes in rental books from the CU Book Store. If they rent a book and decide to keep it, no problem! Textbooks can be purchased at the end of the term for the difference between the rental and retail prices - no additional fees! All rental books need to be returned on time to avoid extra costs.
